Creating an interior
Place hotspots, check the coverage and mark glass and mirrors in the plugin. Then what visitors get in the browser: panorama, free roam, dollhouse and minimap.
An interior tour is a set of hotspots: the places a visitor stands and looks around. You place them in the plugin, export, and visitors walk the space in their browser.
Open the panel on the Interior tab.
Hotspots
Click + Add, then click the floor. The hotspot is placed at standing eye height. Rename or delete hotspots from the list. Use Top View to see the whole floor plan while you place them.
A tour can have up to 100 hotspots. Your plan may set a lower limit; see Pricing.
| Spacing graph | Distance | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Green | 0.6 – 3.5 m | Well spaced. |
| Yellow | 3.5 – 5 m | A bit far apart: consider a hotspot in between. |
| Red | under 0.6 m or over 5 m | Too close, or too far to connect well. |
Satellites. Nukxon adds a few extra viewpoints around each hotspot automatically, which make the 3D in the tour more accurate. You never place them; tick Satellites to see them.
The eye hides your hotspots, with their lines, names and satellites, so you can work on the scene. It sits next to + Add (in Blender, on the Scene Setup header).
Coverage map
Tick Coverage map to paint, in cyan, everything your hotspots will capture:
- Strong cyan: captured sharp.
- Faint cyan: only seen from far or at a steep angle. Add a hotspot closer.
- No cyan: it will be missing in the tour. Place a hotspot that can see it.
Hidden objects and hidden layers are not captured, so they don't count. The map updates a moment after you place or move a hotspot.
Glass & mirrors
Mark windows and other glass, and mirrors, so the tour treats them right: glass stays see-through, mirrors reflect live. Select the objects and use Mark on the Glass or Mirror row. They move onto Nukxon_Glass or Nukxon_Mirror: a tag in SketchUp, a collection in Blender, a layer in 3ds Max.
When the coverage map shows the whole space, export and upload.
An interior tour opens in Panorama. From there, visitors switch to Free roam, pull back to the Dollhouse or follow along on the Minimap. The first visit starts a short guided tour of the controls; replay it from the help button at the top left.
Panorama
The tour opens in panorama, at its starting hotspot: a full 360° view of the renders your engine made.
- Look around: drag with the mouse or one finger.
- Zoom: scroll, pinch, or press + and −, from 0.5× to 4×. The zoom stays as you move between hotspots.
- Move: click or tap the floor to walk to the nearest viewpoint in that direction, or step through them with ← and →. Teleports, at the top right, jumps to the tour's named viewpoints.
Free roam
Free roam, in the toolbar, leaves the fixed viewpoints: walk anywhere in a 3D version of the space. Nukxon builds it from the same renders when your tour is processed (a Gaussian splat), so there is nothing extra to export.
| Desktop | Phone and tablet | |
|---|---|---|
| Move | W A S D or the arrow keys | The stick at the bottom left |
| Look | Drag | The stick at the bottom right, or drag anywhere |
| Sprint | Hold Shift | — |
| Go to a spot | Click the floor | — |
You walk at eye height, slide along walls, stop at glass and climb stairs. The first time you enter, the 3D scene takes a moment to load. The X at the top left takes you back to the panorama of the nearest hotspot.
Dollhouse
Dollhouse shows the whole space from above with the roof lifted off. Drag to orbit; scroll or pinch to zoom. Slice, at the bottom, sets the height the walls are cut at (it starts at eye height), and the button next to it turns the model. Click a ring on the floor to drop into that viewpoint, or the X at the top left to go back to where you were.
Minimap
Every interior tour gets a minimap, made automatically when the tour is processed: a top-down floor plan of your scene. There is nothing to set up in the plugin.
- Turn it on with Minimap in the toolbar. It sits at the bottom right and grows when you point at it.
- A blue dot and a view cone show where you are and which way you're looking, in panorama and in free roam.
- In panorama, click a hotspot's dot to jump there. Drag to pan and scroll to zoom; the map re-centres a few seconds later.
The minimap shows on desktop and large screens; on phones and smaller tablets the view keeps the whole screen.
Tools & shortcuts
- Measure: click two points; hold Shift to snap to vertices and edges. On a phone, tap two points: the crosshair at the centre of the screen is where each point lands.
- Annotate: pin comments anywhere on the scene to share feedback (see Share & review).
- Snapshot: saves the current view as a PNG, with any measurements drawn in.
- Laser pointer (desktop): hold right-click to point at details, for example during a live review.
On a phone, the tools sit behind the button at the bottom right: press and hold it, slide your thumb onto a tool and let go.
